Countdown Is On - 29 Days!

Went to the doctor yesterday! Had to get some more blood drawn to test for down syndrome and something else but I cannot remember right now. Heard the baby's heartbeat!!!! It was 147 bpm yesterday... The nurse said the baby was probably sleeping or something. She asked if I have felt the baby move and I told her my story about the little movements I felt the other day!! I didnt feel any movements yesterday but when she listened to the heartbeat, it was REALLY low so I figure the baby is just too low for me to feel right now. Plus with it being Christmas Eve already.... I have been so busy latley, havent really had a chance to lay down and feel for the baby. Anyway... my next trip to the doctor is in 29 days.... I go back January 22 and we'll be having a sonogram to find out if the baby has a cleft lip or palate, and we'll find out the sex that day too!!!! I cant wait to find out if Gav will have a baby brother or baby sister!! I'm thinking this ones a boy, just because this baby's heartbeat is about the same as I remember Gav's being (around 150).

But you never know! Kris and I were out running errands last week and we stopped at Target and bought the baby's first onsie! It is a tan onsie with little dogs and bears all over it! It's so cute and TINY!!! I forgot how small newborns are! Well I have some more errands to run before Christmas Eve tonight! Gav will be putting out milk and cookies for Santa this year!! How fun! =)

Baby Moving!!!

I can definately feel the baby moving!!! I know for sure now! I have been cleaning house all morning and I just layed down on the bed (on my back) and started up the laptop.... I was laying really still and all of a sudden I felt little "jabs" on the lower left side of my stomach (always in the same spot!!) so I lifted up my shirt a little and I could see the little movements. My stomach would just pop out a little when the baby was moving and I could feel it too! SO amazing! I guess I forgot what it felt like to feel the baby move, but now I rememeber and it is unbelievable! From here it will only get harder and more often! I have my monthly doctor appointment tomorrow where they check for the heartbeat and all that! Maybe I will have an ultrasound and we'll be able to find out the sex... But I doubt it. I think I have to wait til next month for that! Anyway, I know this is kind of a short post but I just wanted to say I CAN FEEL THE BABY'S MOVEMENT NOW! Lets make note that I am only 15 weeks, 2 days today!!!

Getting Bigger!

Well I'm getting bigger. This picture was taken this morning, and I am 14 weeks, 2 days today! It's safe to say none of my clothes fit! But then again, maternity clothes are still too big, so I officially hate getting dressed every morning!!!! I am in my second trimester now, and doing good. I have not been nauseous or sick at all. Still a little tired, but that is getting better. I have been feeling little bubbles on the lower left side of my stomach... I only feel them when I'm laying on my back being completley still (usually at night before I fall asleep). I am pretty sure what I am feeling is the baby moving around. Can't wait til I feel the first kick! And then a month later I will be saying... This baby is always kicking me!!!!! Haha.

Big Headed Baby!

Had another checkup last week. It was just to check for the heartbeat and make sure everything was going okay. Well they couldnt find the heartbeat with the doppler, so just to be safe, I had an ultrasound. We saw the baby... Got to bring a pic home... This little thing has a big ol' head like its brother did! I guess they both take after Daddy in that department! The ultrasound tech said the baby was moving around so much, she had trouble measuring it, and could barley get a picture. The heartbeat is good at 170 bpm.

I was laying in bed this morning after I ate some delicious Chick-Fil-A, and I could have sworn I felt some baby movement, so I layed really still for a few minutes waiting for some more little "popping" in there, but never felt it again. I will be 13 weeks this Saturday, and I think that is still too early to feel anything, but it was just something I hadnt felt before.

As far as pregnancy symptoms, I still have had no more morning sickness or nausea.... I consider myself lucky in that aspect of my pregnancy. I also cant eat enough pickles... For some reason they are just so delicious right now. And I absolute cannot stand the smell of cheese... Any smell of cheese makes me want to vomit.

Other than that everything is great. I'm feeling good, the baby is healthy, and everything's going well. Here is the ultrasound pic of our active little baby....

Lucky Preggos

Well well well I have not been nauseous lately! It comes and goes, I guess. I think I have only thrown up about twice so far and I am 10 weeks, 3 days today. The only symptoms I've had are being really tired/worn out/sleepy. Oh, and constipated... But other than that, I havent felt pregnant. This pregnancy has been complteley different from Gav's. With him, I was constantly throwing up... every morning, it was like a ritual. I also ate a lot of those little oranges, I think they're called cuties. I had about 5 a day with Gav. I tried to eat those this time but they just werent as good. No cravings so far with this one, but I have noticed that the smell of cheese makes me nauseous.. Isnt that wierd!

Well Kris and I have two names picked out if we're having a girl....

Breeca Danielle Orent

Mckinley Ann Orent

If we're having a boy this time... He will probably remain nameless for a while because Kristopher and I just cannot seem to decide on a name we both like. I keep joking with him that we're going to have a Gavin Jr. Since thats the only boys name we both LOVE.

Also, I have started showing... Not enough to tell when I'm wearing a t shirt, but I do have a little bump. Here is a picture of me at 9 weeks, 1 day.

I do not fit into my jeans anymore but I cannot find any maternity jeans I like... Probably because I am not big enough for those yet.

Baby & Heartbeat!

Happy Halloween!! I had another dr appointment yesterday and another ultrasound.... We finally saw the baby and the little fluttering heartbeat!!!! The heartbeat was 170 bpm which the tech said was a good, healthy heartbeat!! My estimated due date is June 13! Another June baby in the family!!! Does that mean we're going to have a girl this time? I guess we'll see! I have been so incredibly nauseous with this pregnancy! Dr. Stimage gave me a prescription for phenegran but I'm afraid to take it because she said it may make me sleepy. I guess if my nausea gets bad enough, I will take some. I have been craving some Taco Bueno ever since about a week and a half ago when I went to get some for lunch one day and my car wouldnt start! But Kris doesnt really like Taco Bueno so I never got any. Untill last night, Kris wasnt really hungry so Gav and I went out and got some Taco Bueno and it was deeeee licious! Then I was definatley feeling it a couple of hours later and am still feeling it this morning. I guess I wont be eating much Taco Bueno in the next 7 months!!! Well thats all to update on for today. It's Halloween and we're going to take Gav trick or treating tonight, he is dressing up as Elmo!!! So cute!!!

Between 5-6 Weeks!

Woke up Thursday morning feeling pretty nauseous, managed to get out of bed and get to the doctor's office for my sono. This time we saw a sac and a little fluttering, the tech said she could not tell if the fluttering was the baby's heart beating or my blood flow... But she did say that since she can see the sac now, it is safe to say I am between 5 and 6 weeks along. The doctor scheduled another sono for me in two weeks (which will put me at about 7 weeks) and said we should be able to see the baby and the heartbeat at that ultrasound! Very exciting news! She also said my Hcg levels went from 999 to over 5000 in 4 days which is good, and the pregnancy is progressing just like its supposed to!

You know, I was starting to think that I was just very lucky with this pregnancy and I was not going to get any morning sickness or nausea this time around... Guess I thought too soon. Every day since Thursday I have been feeling nauseous on and off throughout the day. I haven't thrown up at all, but I'm starting to wish I would so the nausea would go away and I would feel better, and be able to get out of bed!!! I just keep telling myself... it will all be worth it when the baby gets here!

Gav is still not completely understanding the whole "brother/sister boy/girl" thing yet. He does comprehend "baby" and when we ask him what is in Mommy's belly he points to my stomach and says "baby!" It is very adorable. He even kisses my belly sometimes. I cant wait to give him a little sibling and make him a big brother!!!

Doctor, Doctor & More Doctor

I had my first doctors visit last week, just went in, answered some questions, did some routine blood work, gave me some prenatals and sent me home. Then I had an ultrasound a few days later but we did not see anything. The ultrasound tech said it was probably just too early. Anything less than 5 weeks will not show up on an ultrasound. So they took some more blood that day and tested for my Hcg levels, which I'm happy to say came back normal at 999. I just went back in yesterday to get more blood taken to check my Hcg levels and make sure they are doubling like they're supposed to. I have my second ultrasound this Thursday (I should be at least 5 weeks along by then) so hopefully we will see the beginnings of a little baby!

Monday, October 6

We have another baby on the way!!

Well I am happy to announce, I took two pregnancy tests on Friday, and both came back POSiTiVE! Let me just say I broke out in tears! Kris was at work this day, and I thought I would drive up there and surprise him, but I could not wait to tell everyone! That being said, I called my Mom at work, still bawling my eyes out, and said.... I just got a positive test! As I was getting off the phone with my Mom, Kris was calling on the house phone so of course I picked up and was crying, so I just told him over the phone... "Guess what?" His response was... "You're pregnant!?" I said YES! And he immediately goes... "Oh gosh, we've got another munchkin on the way!"

By the time I got off of the phone, Gavin had woken up from his nap (probably from my excitement and crying!) I said to him... "Gavin, Mommy's going to have a baby, do you want a little baby?" He screamed "NOO!" But I know he would love to have a little brother or sister to play with! I called the doctor to set up an appointment, I answered some questions from the nurse and I am now waiting for a response so I can schedule an appointment!

Well I have decided to blog this pregnancy the whole way through, I think when I am finished I will make a book out of it, with pictures and everything. I think it will be a nice little keepsake, and I wish I would have done something like this when I was pregnant with Gavin... So let the blogging begin!

Ups and Downs

So have I mentioned yet that we are all feeling SO much better (from the stomach flu)!!! We started feeling better last week! BUT then Gavy started getting sick again... He has a terrible cough, and a VERY runny nose. I took him to see the doctor last week and she thinks its just bad allergies so he is on some Claritin right now but it doesnt seem to be working.. we may have to make another trip back to the doctor this week.

Kris' job isnt doing well. He has known for a while that they werent doing well, but he just recently found out that they have filed for bankruptcy.... yikes. So he is very stressed out right now but I'm trying to keep him calm and motivated. He has been looking for a new job but hasnt had much luck. He has an interview this week with someone so we're hoping it turns out good.

The new house is being put together quickly (following the rainy days we had). They are finishing up plumbing this week, then they will start framing. Claire's house is going to be started this week also. We were out there Friday night and met two more sets of our neighbors... They were very friendly and seem to be fun people. We keep getting more and more excited!

We had an open house yesterday, then right after that we had a two hour showing. We never got that offer we were hoping for before, but those are the people that came back yesterday for the two hour showing. They've got a house to sell, but they really love ours so we're trying to work up a deal where we stay in this house until November then they move in when we move out. That way they wouldnt have to worry about making two mortgages, and we wont have to get an apartment for 2 months. So hopefully it will work out.

As for today, I've got this little stool that Gav uses when he brushes his teeth in the bathroom and stuff. It was passed down from Kris' grandfather.... His great grandfather made it and Kris, Conner, and Courtney used it and now it is Gavin's. It is still in good shape, but needs some sanding and painting done to it so we're about to head up to Home Depot to get some stuff to fix it up with. I will take before and after pics!!!

Well thats all for now. I'm hoping Gav will start feeling better soon, Kris will have a new job, and we will have a sold house!!! lol A little too much to wish for? Maybe.

Pics of the House && Gav

Well I was just sitting here watching the best movie ever, My Best Friend's Wedding (I think this is the fifth time I've watched it in the past 3 days). And I saw my camera laying on the table and decided I would put up the pics of the house, so here we go...
This is the front... where the door will be.
Gavin and Daddy walking around the house.

Drivewayy.

And our sold sign! lol
And there just happen to be some adorable pictures of Gavin on the camera when I uploaded the pics.....

Big beautiful hazel eyes.
So cutee

Hope you enjoyed the pics!

Bitter Sweet

We're feeling better today. The boys are doing better, and I'm feeling okay. No more stomach aches, headaches, or throwing up so thats good. Still not 100% back to myself but I know I'm getting there. Today is Kris' last day off work (he's had the past three days off). We've been pretty miserable lately. The three of us would pile up on the couch downstairs (Kris on the left, me on the right, Gav in the middle). We had about 5 blankets covering us, and we were sweating like pigs (it was the fever). I'm sure we looked pretty pathetic when Claire walked in from work last night lol.

Anyway, bad news on the house... they didnt accept the counter offer. A bit of good news too though, someone else is working up an offer for us (cross your fingers, maybe it will be a good one). These people do have a house to sell though... so I dont know what will happen.

As for the new house... We havent been out there since Friday night but they should still be progressing. Unless the little bit of rain we had slowed them down. We're going out there tonight to take a look.

Nothing else new really. I think we're going to get the house cleaned up today (since we've been deathly ill for the past 3 or 4 days). Will post pictures soon!

Monday, August 11

feeling deathly ill

Well Granny Mam came over and was going to stay for a while, BUT Kris, Gavin and I have come up with some horrible stomach virus or something. We've all been throwing up and stuff... ick. Anyway, Granny Mam didnt want to get sick (I dont blame her) so she decided to leave. She will be back though, probably for Conner's birthday.

A little bit of good news.... We have had about 4 showings in the past 2 days.... We got an offer on the house today... BUT it is not near what we were expecting so we're countering and we'll see what happens from there.

Sorry this is a short post but I'm really not feeling well. Will update more later. Love.

The Good News!

Ohh boyy. It is 5:16am. Why am I awake? Well I just randomly woke up in the middle of the night and started thinking about how freakin excited I am for this house to be built, and for us to be moving in! And now... I can't go back to sleep. =/

I have some good news. When Kris got off work yesterday, we had a showing... It was a second showing for the same agent!!! yay! We might have a potential buyer on our hands! Then we drove out to our new neighborhood to find out THEY STARTED ON THE HOUSE! It's framed for the foundation! And theres all these trenches dug for plumbing! We are finally seeing some progress! I mean, we've been under contract now for a little over two months, its good to finally see something going on. Anyway, so we are standing outside our new "house" and I've got my video camera out and my little digital camera, I'm taking as many pictures and as much video as I can! We were there for about 45 mins discussing if we think they're going to pour the foundation for the patio the same time they do it for the house (haha I think that was just an excuse for us to stand there and look at it longer). Then we decide to leave and I said to Kris.... "I am so excited, I just want to go knock on all the neighbors doors and introduce myself!" Funny thing I said that, because as I was getting Gav into the car, our "future" neighbors walk outside to meet us! They were SO nice. I can tell we will get along great! We stood there talking to them for an hour before we left. So that just makes me even MORE excited (if thats even possible).

And the good news continues.... We have another showing scheduled for tomorrow morning! It's someone who has not looked at the house before, but we have high hopes. Also, Granny Mam is coming tomorrow morning! I have a lot to look forward to. Now you can see why I can not go back to sleep.... My mind is running in circles! =)

Well I will post the pictures of the house up tomorrow, when I'm not half asleep!
Goodnight!

Whats been going on latelyy

Hello World. My life is amazing, I am so blessed. And so very thankful for everything. I have a wonderful husband that I couldnt live without, and an amazing little boy that I love with all that I have. My family means the world to me, I dont know where I would be without them. I have been a little stressed lately, but I need to just sit back and relax.. Things will come together, I have faith.

Gavin is good, he's learning so much! He is talking more than ever!!! And he amazes me more every day! He and Jack have become best friends, Jack follows him everywhere, and Gav loves it. I think Gavin loves that he has a puppy his own size! It's so cute to watch them play together.

Last night Kris and Gav were out front playing "football." It was so adorable! I video taped it but dont know how to get a video from a camera uploaded on here. Then Kris would pick him up and let him "fly" around the front yard... The first thing Gav said when he woke up this morning was "daddy fly!" So cute!

As for the new house... We had our pre construction meeting last week and they are going to start building this weekend! Then the foundation will be poured in about three weeks! I'm going to go out there this weekend and take some pictures! We're finally going to start seeing some progress!!!

BUT we still have had no luck with this house. We've dropped the price to try and get some bites, but havent gotten any yet. We've had a few showings here and there but nothing has come out of them. So we're just hanging in there, waiting for the right person.

Well we havent seen Granny Mam in a while (since right after the wedding, I believe) and she is coming over tomorrow to stay for a while!! We've got big plans, and we'll take a lot of pictures! Gavin and I are very excited to see her!

Stay tuned for pictures, I'm sure I'll have some up in the near future!!!

My baby is getting so big!

Wow. How did my little boy grow up so fast?
We went to the mall today (havent been there in a while) and Gavin was playing in the play area (like he used to do all the time)... Kris and I were sitting there in awe, wondering how in the heck our little baby got so big so fast. I know, this sounds silly, but seriously, I didnt notice how big he actually is until I saw him playing and running around with the other kids, and he looks like a giant compared to them. He was running around, and Kris looks over at me and goes.... "Remember when Gav was that little (pointing to a baby girl just learning how to walk)." I wanted to cry! I cant believe he is already two! I remember when he turned one and we wanted him to walk so bad, and we were always standing him up on things, and trying to get him to take just two little steps forward, and now... he's running all over the place, full of energy, and we're wondering where the time has gone. It's crazy how fast it flies by. My baby isnt such a baby anymore! :/

Speaking of babies, I really want to have another one!!!!!! I want Gavin to have a little brother or sister to play with! I am ready for another little baby! But I know now is not the right time, with the house and everything, I need to hold off a while longer.... I guess I can hang in there.

Well we had our final trip to the design center today. Everything is picked out and looks amazing! We're so excited! There were just a few things here and there that we thought we wanted originally, but went back and changed our minds later. But now everything is finalized, and we cannot change any of it! Next step... Our construction meeting!! Yay!

Kris and I got the movie "21" tonight and watched it... It is very good! If you havent seen it, I recommend it!!!

Off for now!

Monday, July 21

It's been a while.

Well I've been a busy lady! Did I tell you that our trip to the design center went very well! We thought we had everything for our house picked out, then a week later we decided we wanted to change a few things, so we went back and made a few changes last week and I think we're going this Wednesday to finalize everything!

Kris is back to working 5 days a week again (finally!!!). He was working 6 days a week for a while, sometimes even 6 1/2 days.... it was pretty nuts! But I finally have him to myself two days a week again (well with Gavin, of course)!

We made a trip out to Allen this weekend. We went to the Allen Outlet mall off of 75. Bought a TON of clothes for Gavin, I got two new purses (yay!) and some clothes, and we spent TOO much money. Those outlet malls are dangerous! But we had fun! Gav enjoyed all the little car rides they have, and some people bring their dogs, so of course Gavin was "oooohing and awwing" the whole time! We also had two showings on the house that day! YAY! But no offers.
Then Sunday we had an open house, got some good feedback but not good enough for an offer. We're hanging in there though.

Not much else new to talk about. Gavin and I are about to go run some errands, I will update more later!

Pictures from the week!

Hello Lovelys.

This week went by pretty fast. Gav and I created a potty chart for him. He gets to put a sticker on it every time he goes potty, and he gets 2 M&Ms every time he tells me when he needs to go potty. The only flaw I have found with this concept is that he now tells me he has to go potty, then pees two little drops, then asks for an M&M.... I'll have to work on that.

For some reason, I forgot to take a picture of the inside lol so thats all you get!

Here are some pictures of Gavin in his "big boy undies..."Very adorable!

And here are a few pictures of Gavin and Daddy (my handsome boys) =)

I will never understand why it is so hard to get a picture of both of them smiling, and looking at the camera! lol

And here are some pictures of Gavin and Maddie at the pool the other day...
So those are some pictures from the week, hope you enjoyed them! Gavin and I are going to the pool today, maybe I'll get some more pictures!

Happy Late 4th!

Gavin survived his FIRST professional haircut!!!!!! I found out from a friend of mine, that there is this new hair salon for kids, where they have flat screens so the kids can watch cartoons, and for the chairs, they have little helicopters and firetrucks for the boys to sit in, and they have toys for the kids to play with... Anyway so I took Gavin there on Thursday, and he did wonderful! He was playing with the cars and trucks while we were waiting to get his hair cut, and then when they called him over, he sat in the firetruck and was playing with the steering wheel, and watching elmo the whole time. He was so good!!! I was amazed at how well he did, because we have tried to take him to get his hair cut before, and he never lets it happen, we've always had to leave before they could finish cutting because he kicks and screams, and makes it immpossible for them to cut his hair. Which is why Kris and I always cut it, and it is never even!! Well, now it is! And it looks so cute!!! Then when we were finished, they gave him a lollipop and a fake tattoo (for the fourth) and they had this little pouch of blue hair gel that I got him. So he was all decked out for the 4th... Blue hair, and a red white and blue peace sign on his cheek! He was adorable.

So.... Happy LATE 4th of July!!!!! Hope everyone had an awesome (and safe) day!

As for us, we went out to Little Elm. The town has what they call a "July Jubilee," and since we're going to be living there soon, we decided to celebrate the fourth of July out there! We had a really good time! My Mom and Danny and Dylan went with us, and we got a spot right on the lake, we cooked out and had a good time. The kids were all swimming in the lake, and I tried to get Gav to get in and go swimming, but everytime I walked him to the edge of the water, he would point and go "ewww mommmy, ewww." So... Gav ended up not swimming. They had bounce houses, and Gavin loved those! There was also a live band, and some other stuff. Gavin had cotton candy for the first time.. it was a mess. We'll probably wait to give him that again.

Anyway, we have our first appointment with the design center on wednesday!! YAY! We will be picking out all of our color schemes, cabinets, countertops, light fixtures, etc. We're very excited about it! After the design center, we'll have a construction meeting, and then the building process will begin!! We're still thinking the house will be done around the end of November.

Not much else new to blog about. Nothing too exciting going on... I'm going to get some laundry done now!

Love.

Selling this damn house =/

Well, we just had our third showing! Cross your fingers, and lets hope it was a good one! We haven't had much luck in that aspect of selling the house... Plus, the market's not a sellers market right now, so it makes it that much harder!

Let me give you a rundown of how the showings have been going....

The first showing we had came the day after we put the house on the market. Kris was off that day so we had been running around all morning and no one was home so when they called to tell us about the showing.... no one answered. Kris and I got home that day around 1pm and I took Gavin upstairs for a nap. We laid down for about 10 mins, and all of a sudden, the dogs are barking and Conner is yelling for me... So I run downstairs and he's like... Someones here to look at the house... I was like, WHAT? So the buyer and agent walk in the house and I'm running around like a freakin mad man trying to get the dogs to quit jumping on these two ladies, and Gavin comes walking down the stairs in his diaper!!!!! I finally get the dogs out back, and Gavin in some clothes and in my arms, and the agent goes... "Oh, this house doesn't have a formal living, we need a formal living" and they walk out. Needless to say, it was pretty much HORRIBLE! And I'm pretty sure that the whole "formal living" thing was just an escape goat because it was so awkward and uncomfortable for them. Poor ladies. I felt pretty bad, and pretty embarrassed!!!

Then we had our second showing yesterday.... We actually got a phone call this time, so we knew they were coming, and we got out of the house in time. However, this time it was a couple that was looking at the house down the street that's for sale, and they were ready to make an offer on it until our realtor talked there agent into showing them our house. Let me remind you, there is a house down the street from us that is for sale... It is our exact same floor plan but the other one has a lot of upgrades, and a pool in the backyard, BUT it is also like $25,000 more than ours. Anyway, they looked at our house, and decided that it would cost them more to buy this house AND put the upgrades in it, so they didn't want it. Bummer.

And, today I was watching Tori and Dean (best reality show everr.) and my cell phone rings... To my surprise it was another showing. This time it was from 2pm-3pm... I look over at the clock and it is 1:40.... Fabulous. So I wake Gav up, clean up the house a little bit, stump my freakin toe while I'm running around trying to get things done in 20 mins, and finally I get out the door... But I have both of the dogs and Gavin, and I was not prepared for this at all. So I ended up going to sonic and eating, then driving around aimlessly for 45 mins. Pretty fabulous.

SO, not much luck with showings so far, but I guess this is what its like when your house is on the market.... and we'll do what we have to to sell this house. Maybe the last person that looked at it will like it... We'll see.

Now, I'm offff to get some laundry doneee.

Tuesday, July 1

No more teenage years for me.

Well Hello! It is 1:49am on (technically) Tuesday morning, and I cannot sleep. :/ I was actually sleeping fine until I woke up to a big knee in my back, and to my realization, I was sleeping on like a centimeter of the bed.... nice (a king size bed, and I get one centimeter to sleep on, those boys are bed hogs). Anyway, I tried to go back to sleep and couldn't, so now I'm here... updating.

So, I just had a birthday. I turned 20 yesterday. Everyone is asking... "do you feel any older?" I reply with.. "I feel like I'm 30, but I've felt that way for a while, 20 is no different!" ...Although it does sound a lot older than 19... or is it just me that thinks that? I don't know, anyway.. I had a wonderful day. I didn't do anything big, had no big plans, just a nice day. My Mom took the day off of work so we spent most of the day together, and she finally got to see our new house (which she loved, by the way!) so that was fun. Kris and Claire took me out to a fabulous dinner. We went to Steve Field's Steak house... so deeeelicious! I love when I go to a good restaurant, and I get soo full that I feel like I'm going to explode, and I don't want to see any food for 12 days afterwards! Yes, that is how I felt last night lol... sicckk. But it was good while I was eating it!! So my teenage years are over, and now I have 21 to look forward to!! But, Kris will be 21 in September, and since we're married, I can legally drink if he is with me. Haha sounds funny, but its true. So 21 wont be THAT great lol.

My little boy is growing up. He is really catching on with the the whole potty training thing. Usually, I'm asking him every 20 minutes if he needs to go potty. But sometimes I forget, and he comes up to me and tells me, or I'll go to change a diaper (because he still wears diapers when we're out of the house. I'm not chancing myself on that one!) and his diaper will be completely dry and as soon as I take it off, he runs to the potty! He is so smart! So yesterday he had to go potty as soon as I got his "big boy undies" on him (go figure), so I took him to the bathroom downstairs (where I don't have a little potty) so I put him on the "big potty" and he pees, and I tell him how awesome he is and how proud I am of him, and he chimes in with a "Yay Mommy!" (so adorable!! =)) Then, to my surprise, he gets the toilet paper roll, and takes off like 2 little squares of toilet paper, and I'm thinking... hm, maybe he has seen Mommy go "pee pee" a little too many times, and he is doing what Mommy does.... well... no, he takes the 2 little squares of toilet paper, rips them off the roll, and throws them in the toilet... THEN flushes it. hahahaha so I'm assuming that he thinks that is what Mommy does, so that's what he is supposed to do. So funny. Now, every time he goes in the big toilet, he has to throw in his 2 little squares of toilet paper before he can flush it and leave the bathroom. It's pretty hilarious if you ask me. Still makes me laugh!

Well other than that, not really much new to talk about. Plus, I'm getting kind of tired now... So maybe I'll be able to go back to sleep this time.

Have a good night =)

So much can happen in a MONTH!

Why haven't I updated in so long, you ask? Well, a lot has been going on in the Orent household lately.

For starters, I'M MARRiED TO MY MANN! But you already knew that, I just like saying it!

The week after we got married, we started looking at houses. And believe it or not, we found an amazing neighborhood, and the house of our dreams within like 2 weeks of looking. Another surprise? ... It was in our price range!!!!! It is a 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, with 2 living areas, 2 dining areas, and a game room. It is such an awesome house! We are so excited! SO, we signed a contract, and are having our house built as we speak. (Well technically they haven't started building yet, we're still waiting on blueprints.) Our house should be built and move in ready by the middle of November this year. So we'll be in the new house for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year! YAY! I absolutely CAN NOT WAIT!

So, all of this is counting on the fact that we are able to sell the house we live in now.... ick. The housing market is not in favor of sellers right now, so that may be a problem. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully everything will go as planned and this house will sell by November. Got anybody that wants to buy a house? Send them to me! lol

Well, onto other topics... Those of you who know me, know that I love to cook and bake (baking mostly). I have a new recipe to share with everyone! You've had Monkey Bread, or what some people like to call "Sticky Buns," I don't know, something about the words "sticky" and "buns" together just freaks me out a little, so I prefer to call it Monkey Bread! Anyway, here is the recipe...

Get 2 rolls of jumbo buttermilk biscuits, (try not to cringe when you pop the can open, I still do it, but trust me, they wont explode in your face or anything.) cut each biscuit into quarters, and set aside. Mix 1 cup of white sugar, and 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon into a big Ziploc bag. Toss in the biscuit pieces (about 8 at a time), and shake it up until each biscuit piece is fully coated in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Then arrange them nicely into a bundt or tube pan. Do not squash them together, just place them so they are touching. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt 1/2 cup butter, 1 cup packed brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. Stir continuously until all is melted. Let boil for about a minute, then pour over the dough. Bake at 350 degrees, for about 20 mins. Then take the pan out of the oven, and flip the monkey bread over onto a plate, let cool slightly (so you don't burn off your fingers) then dig in and enjoy! This is a very good recipe, and it goes good with a big glass of milk! Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

So, Gav is doing good, growing up wayy too quickly! He is very into reading his little books, and very into doing flips across the living room floor! We've been to the pool a lot this summer and now he's got the cutest little tan line across his back! He is holding his breath under water now! And we've been working on swimming lessons with him! His potty training has progressed a little bit, he is telling me when he needs to go "pee pee" now, but we're still having trouble with the whole "tell mommy when you need to poo poo" thing. And as far as sleeping in his own bed goes, he will have no part of it. He even screams when I just bring his little race car pillow from mommy and daddy's bed to his bed. Bless his little heart, it is so cute though. And we cut off his lovely curly locks again, he was just getting wayy too hot with his long hair. I'm thinking we'll let it grow back during the winter though! He is talking more now, he LOVES his trucks, and tractors... every time he sees a truck on the road he says "mommy tuck, tuck mommy!" =) So I think I hear that like 93874982736 times a day now. But it is adorable, and I wouldn't change it for the world.

So, as you can tell, we're all doing good. We had to get rid of Dakota. She just wasn't doing good with us, she wasn't getting the attention she needed, and she didn't have the space she needs outside. She is doing much better now though. She went to a good home, and has another husky to play with, so shes good.

Well Gav is ready for his morning nap so off I go. I promise to not wait so long before I update again!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Well, people do call us the "Random couple"

People have always called Kris and I "very random," but I have been hearing that a lot more lately. As you know, Kris and I were planning on getting married in mid-July. The reason we were waiting until July was so that Kris could get a weekend off and we could go away on a little "honeymoon" after we got married. We had always (for the most part) knew we were going to get married at the Justice of the Peace because we wanted a small wedding, and we wanted to avoid the stress and hassle and BIG bills that come with planning a wedding elsewhere.

Well last Thursday, Kris had the day off and we spontaneously decided we would go get our marriage license... When we found out that it expires in 30 days, we thought... hm, how about next week? So Kris called his boss and got the okay for the day off, and we talked to our families and decided we would do it! So now, WE'RE GETTING MARRIED IN 4 DAYS! And we couldn't be happier or more excited! We're only having about 7 people there for the actual ceremony part, and then we're having a small reception afterwards, at a restaurant that we all love. The reception will only include about 20 of our close family members, so it will be small and intimate. I am so excited and ready to marry him! I've been waiting 4 years so I think its about time!

Well, I've got a lot of stuff to get done before Friday so I'm going to get on it. I probably wont update again until after the wedding. But I will have a lot of pics to post, so check back in this weekend!

Have a good rest of the week, and weekend!!!
Love =)

Progress with Potty Training

Hello All! Good news, Gavin is doing very well with potty training. He has told me twice now, when he has to go potty! Thats a step! I'm more and more proud of him everyday! He also slept in his own bed the past two nights. He does still wake up in the middle of the night to sleep with mommy and daddy, but I think its good that he sleeps in his room untill about 4:30 in the morning. He also has gotten into a routine where he wants me to read him a book everynight before he goes to sleep. It's so cute! His little Bible Storybook (that GM got him for Christmas) is his favorite right now!

We went to Aunt Kim's house yesterday and the kids played for a little while until they were ready for naps. Kim and I worked on this little "H-3" that she is making for a baby shower this Saturday. It is so adorable... I'll be at the shower, so I'll get some pictures and post them for you all to see.

Other than that, nothing really new. Gav and I have been kind of lazy this week, I think it has something to do with all this rainy weather. Cant wait till its sunny and hot again!

Hope everyones having a wonderful week =)

A Fabulous Life

Friday night, Kris, Gav and I went to Outback and had a delicious dinner (I LOVE that place), just the three of us (that rarely happens). It was a good night!

Saturday, Gavin and I went to the mall (we were there FOREVER), Gav played on the big breakfast picnic lol (if you've been to Willowbend, you know what I'm talking about). He absolutely loves playing there! Then Mommy had to find a swimsuit that actually fit her! lol That was tough, but I finally found one. Then we had T baby's birthday party that day... That went well, and I think Gav has found a girlfriend. Her name is Coryn, she is a doll!! She is almost three, she and Gav were squirting each other with little water guns... the cutest thing ever! I wish I had gotten a picture! Anyway, the party went well, it was good to see Nikole, Trevor, Phillip and the rest of the family and friends again! I miss hanging out with all of them! Gav and Trev didn't really play much though, they were both extremely tired and needed naps, but they did have fun! Happy Birthday T!

Sunday was Mother's Day... and it was wonderful. The only thing that would have made it better is if my fiance was off work, and could have spent the day with me!! We didn't really do much all day... I made my Mom a pink cake! lol (She loved it by the way.) Gav got some new fish for his fish tank, so we now have 8 "fishies." Conner gave Claire and I our Mother's Day gifts... which were these really nice gift baskets, filled with Mary Kay goodies! I loved it! Then we went to dinner (Claire, Con, Court, Kris, Gav, and myself) and my amazing fiance shows up to dinner with 2 dozen roses (a dozen for his Mother and a dozen for his fiance) HOW SWEET! And the sweetest little card... Gosh I love him.

All in all, I had a wonderful weekend! And I hope you did too! =)

Friday, May 9

It just wasn't my day...

So lets talk a little bit about yesterday, shall we? Mkay, I woke up with a pounding headache, and the worst stomach ache EVER (well, besides the contractions I felt during labor). So I complained a little bit, then decided to take some benadryl....BAD IDEA. I fell asleep around 10am and did not wake up untill 2pm!!! I slept half the day away!! Not to mention, when I woke up, I was still not feeling well. (Kris was off yesterday, so he played with Gav while I was sleeping.) Anyway, I started feeling a little better around 4ish, and since I hadnt eaten breakfast OR lunch, I was starving by 5pm. I decided to go ahead and start dinner (lemon chicken and fettucini alfredo... my favorite!) Well I was still very out of it from the benadryl (I should have known not to take that stuff.) so I start frying the chicken for dinner, and about 2 mins into it, I realize... I forgot to batter the chicken!!!!! What the heck? So I'm all in a hurry trying to get the chicken out of the fryer and into the batter so I can re-fry the chicken. By this point, Kris has gone out to work on the car with Ray, so its just Gavin and I. I look over (in the midst of trying to get the chicken back in the pan) and I see Gavin COVERED in flour. What else could go wrong here? Apparently he went into the pantry, found a bag of flour, opened it, and preceeded to scoop it (with his hands) onto the kitchen floor. I was so furious. So I finally get the chicken back to frying, and clean up the disaster Gavin made. Well now its time to sit down for dinner, I've got my plate of food, and I've got Gav's plate and we're sitting at the kitchen table, when all of a sudden Ray comes in and goes... "Someone go pick up the pizzas!" I'm like... WHAT? Turns out... the boys had already called and ordered pizza and pasta from Goodfellas..... ugh. I just spent like an hour and a half on a dinner that should usually only take 45 mins, and now they're not even going to eat it..... whatever. So I ate my dinner, and saved the rest.

Later that night, Gav decides he wants to go out with the guys and help work on the car.... So I tell them "Gav's coming out, so keep an eye on him." About 10 mins after I say that and walk back inside, I hear Gav crying outside, so I run out there to find that Gavin has smashed his fingers in the car door.... Poor baby. So I comfort him, and decide to go out there with him (because he still wants to go out with the guys.) Gav and I are playing in the front, and he's eating a popcicle.... I turn my head for a split second to look at the cute puppy across the street, and when I turn back around, Gavin is bent over forwards, and has his head down, like he is looking at something behind him.... and PLOP! He falls flat on his face! He starts screaming, so I run inside and notice his nose is all scratched up and bleeding, and his lip is bleeding where he had his surgery.... I'm freaking out by this point. So we get some ice on it, stop the bleeding, and get a bandaid. Gavin calms down, Claire calms me down, and everything was fine. This morning he woke up with a purple bruised nose, and his lip is all red. It just wasnt either of our days yesterday.

As for today... we went shopping for a little while. We got Trevor's bday present, and when we pick Daddy up from work tonight, we're all going to dinner, so that should be nice. Then tomorrow we are going to T baby's birthday party! And Sunday we're celebrating Mother's Day with our Mommies.

Now that you've heard my itentary for the weekend, I'll end this post. Everyone have a wonderful weekend! And Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there! =)

Going Bonkers

It's still wet and rainy outside. When will the sun come back out agian?! I'm sick of the rain already! I want to take Gavin to the waterpark and lay out!!!!!! lol I guess I'll have to wait another week or so.

Well since it was another rainy day here, I took Gav to Going Bonkers. If you havent heard of it, it is a place for kids to play, it is right by Vista Ridge Mall... here is the website...

http://www.goingbonkers.com/

Check it out, its a really cool place. Gav and I were there for about 2 hours, and then I saw Gavin pinching this little boy, so thats when I decided it was time for us to leave. He was getting tired and cranky. We've been home for about an hour now, Gav came in and passed out, and is still sleeping! Bonkers wears him out! ...and me too. lol

Random

Well hello!!! It has been a pretty rainy day today, so we stayed in and I did some cleaning and organizing. I rearranged Gav's room a little bit, moved some things around, then HE TOOK A NAP IN HIS OWN BED! YAY! I couldnt believe it! He NEVER sleeps in his bed. Maybe this is a new start? ;) We'll see.

Other than that, nothing else new to report. I do have a few pics though. Hope you enjoy them!

My handsome boy!

Playing with his new sprinkler! It was so funny!

...and the water hose. He was filling up his pool =)

Haha! So, Gav took off his diaper, climbed on the bed, and while Daddy wasnt looking, got on the laptop. I had to get a picture!

He thought it was hilarious too!!

I found a new recipe for strawberry cake, so I decided to make some... it was delicious! I will definatley be using this recipe again!

The Joys of Motherhood

Well well well. We got all the flowers planted today... It was a tough job, and my back is burnt to a crisp from being outside for 2 hours straight. Not to mention, I was completley PALE before today... Now, I'm just bright red. =)

So I gave Gav a bath tonight, before bedtime. I take him out and let him stand there for a second while I'm picking up all his bath toys.... and I hear him making wierd poop noises. So I turn around to find him pooping on the bathroom floor. I quickly grab him and put him on the toilet (the big toilet, not his little one). And I tell him "It's okay, go poo poo." I'm happy to announce that he pooped in the potty, for the first time!! I was (and still am) very proud of my boy! I was shocked that he actually pooped in the toilet because he is usually so shy about going "poo poo." Normally, he would run out of the room, hide somewhere and poop in his diaper... but this time he wasnt shy about it at all! He is very smart, and knows to go potty in the toilet, however, he still hasnt caught on to telling me when he needs to go, but we'll keep working on it, and I'm sure he'll start telling me soon. He doesnt really pee in his diaper either, he usually waits untill I ask him if he needs to go, or untill he is in the bathtub (I drain it out of course!). So hopefully, he'll start telling me soon!

Well Kris and Kevin are out in the garage working on the car, and Gav is telling me he wants his chocolate milk, so off I go to make him some! I'll write more tomorrow!

Goodnight!

Stinky Situation

Well this morning, Gav and I took a shower, and I was getting ready to go meet Courtney for breakfast, so I put some little boxers on Gav and let him run around the house in them. Next thing I know, I hear "uh oh mommy, uh oh mommy." So I come running downstairs and there is a big pile of "poo poo" on the floor.... and Gav is just pointing at it, still saying "uh oh." (This is what he does if he sees the dogs poop or pee in the house, which rarely happens.) So of course, I'm thinking its from the dogs..... Well, Gav turns around to walk off, and I see that he has poop running all down the back of his little leg.... GROSS. So I RUN him upstairs, throw him back in the bath tub, and wash him off. After the bath, I went to get him out and he was still so embarrased that he pooped on the floor... he didnt want to get out of the tub. Bless his little heart! Needless to say, I've decided to only put him in little boxers or undies, if he has already gone "poo poo."

So we went to breakfast with "Auntie Courtney," before we could get there, Gav has spilt his juice alll down his new shirt.... So here we have this cute little BLUE shirt, that now has RED stains all down the front of it... Well boys will be boys, what can you do, at least he was enjoying his drink!

As for today, we are going to finish getting stuff ready for the garage sale (we're having tomorrow), and we're going to plant some flowers. I noticed yesterday that Gavin LOVES running around through the sprinkler in the backyard, so I'm going to try to get him one of those kinds that hooks up to your water hose. If I can find one today, I'll be sure to take some pictures and post them for everyone to see.

Have a wonderful day! =)

Boy, oh Boy!

Well, I'm happy to report Gavin is doing well with the potty training. I make sure to ask him as often as possible if he "needs to go pee pee." Last night before bath and bed time, he went. Then this morning, we were kind of rushing around in a hurry so I didnt get to him soon enough, and by the time I asked if he needed to go, he had already gone in his diapee. It is so cute to see the big smile on his face when he goes in his potty, he is just so proud of himself (as well he should be) and it is the cutest thing in the world.

We went to see my best friend from high school (Angela) today. She has a 17 month old niece (Natalie), and she and Gav just had a blast playing together! Gav takes a little while to warm up to people, so he was a little shy at first, but after he saw the dogs, and Natalie's toys, he was all ready to play! They are still working on the "sharing toys" technique, but other then that, they were great. It was so good to see Angela, she is doing very well for herself, and I love that we've managed to keep in touch through everything that has happened the past 3 years. When we got ready to leave, Gavin walked up to Natalie and gave her a big hug!! So precious!! We'll be over there again soon to have another little play date!!!

Afterwards, we stopped at Chick-fil-a for a quick lunch. Of course Gavin doesnt eat as much when he sees those little play areas. He rushed through his food (eating barely anything) then wanted to go play. It's so funny though, he was more intersted in opening and closing the door to the play area then he was with the actual play area! All the other kids are playing on the slide, and my son is opening and closing the door for the kids and parents... so funny. Wish I had gotten a picture, but I cant seem to find my camera. It will turn up though, I'm sure.

Well, my boy is napping right now so I'm going to take some time to edit a few pictures. Then we're going to run some errands. I will probably post again before the day is over!!

Love.

Here are some pictures of Gavin and Dakota playing in the backyard.... we took these yesterday.

Hope you enjoyed them as much as I did! =)

My First Post

Hello Everyone!

So I've decided to start the potty training process... well technically I decided I would start the process a few weeks ago, and just never stuck with it. This time, however, I plan on making it last. Gavin just turned 2 on Friday, April 25, so some may say he is still a little too young to potty train, but he has been showing signs that he is more than ready. He no longer wets his diaper at night, he waits till he wakes up in the morning, he also sits on his potty by him self (I do not have to tell him) and tries to potty, BUT he does this with his diaper still on. Anyway, I think he is ready. So far he has gone "pee pee in the potty" 3 times now... and counting. I put some pull ups on him so he knows when he pees (the pull ups change colors and get cold). I also have some little boxers I let him wear around the house, and I tell him to "tell mommy when you need to pee pee so you can go in your potty," This has not worked so far. Everytime I have tried this, he pees in his little undies and THEN says "uh oh mommy (pointing to the pee spot on the floor)." But I will contine to try this technique. I have a feeling Gavin will be a quick learner, I just have to be patient, and consistant with him. I am going to try to get some pictures of him on his little potty next time!

As far as the bottle goes... Gavin is still on it. He only takes his "ba-ba" when he is ready to go to sleep (at nap time and bed time). I have decided that is fine, and I will continue to let him have his chocolate milk, and juice when he is ready to go to sleep. I think it is just a comfort item for him, so I will see how long it lasts. I think the potty training is more important for now, so we'll stick with that. Gavin has only been on the bottle for a year now, because before his second surgery, he could not take the bottle on his own... This may just be my excuse for letting him have his bottle at bedtime, but I'm sticking to it.

Anyway, Gav had his two-year checkup yesterday, and the doctor says he looks great. The tube in his right ear has already fallen out, and the tube in his left ear is making its way out! The only thing the dr is concerned with is his speech. He is still not nearly as far along as most kids his age, so she suggests we go ahead and get him in some speech therapy... what could it hurt, right? So we're going to try it out. Gav is doing better on his speech, but still not caught up. We'll just have to keep working with him and being patient... he will get there eventually.

Other then that, nothing else new to report. We're having a garage sale this weekend, so I'm looking forward to cleaning out Gav's closet and dresser, and getting rid of his old clothes. His birthday party went great! He had a blast, and Daddy got him his own bounce house! He would play in there for hours if we let him. Also, he is now saying please and thank you, it sounds more like "peeease and taint you" haha but at least he is learning to be polite... and it is so cute the way he says it!!

I will post pictures soon!
